Welcome to SWIC Online!

SWIC is a social club open to membership for expatriates living in Shekou and the surrounding areas of Shenzhen. SWIC provides a focus for social and cultural activities for members and is of particular value to newcomers by providing a means to meet expats, find resources and to learn about what activities are available in the area. Our members come from all parts of the world, many different nationalities, young and ‘older’, with and without children. Membership is limited to foreign passport holders or  have a spouse with a foreign passport (per government guidelines).

Our current regular activities include cultural visits, shopping trips, coffee mornings, golf, badminton, mah jong, aerobics, tennis, international cooking, lecture series  and new activities are introduced and driven by member interest. SWIC has a self-serve library located at Jingshan  and publishes a quarterly Newsletter.

Newcomers can join at any time and we offer a monthly  ’Newcomer’s Tea” specifically designed to answer all of your settling in questions.  These are informal occasions hosted by our Hospitality Committee.
